Now if your like me, you’ll want to now who the heck I am to be giving you this kind of info on kayaks. Well, for starters, I love the water, grew up around ponds and lakes, swam for sport in high school, and got into kayaking just before college. Now I am a little more into the recreational side of kayaking rather than whitewater, but that side of it interests me too and I would like to try it someday. As for the reason to create this site, I wanted a place where people could easily find the basic information on kayaking and be able to get some ideas that they may not have come up with on their own.
Now in News:

Mark Gorman took the overall title in the inaugural Sitka Sound Ocean Adventure Race last Saturday. Mark is the co-founder of this race for human-powered watercraft to benefit the Sitka Maritime Heritage Society inorder for them to restore the old boathouse and make it a museam. Competitors came from all over, even as far away as from Australia.

The severe storms in the Midwest on June 7 have destroyed most of the Bear Paw Outdoor Adventure Resort in Northeast Wisconsin. Kayaks and other merchandise were thrown across the highway and lodged in trees. Co-owner Jamee Peters witnessed this horrific storm and couldn’t belive the damage that occured. A relief effort of hundreds of paddlers came from around the state to help pick up the debris.
